Optus has revised its 3G broadband plans with increased download capacities and lower excess usage fees. There is a catch to the good news, they have also reduced the download limit to half after you pass the 12 month mark.
Optus’ feedback is that the customer can pick the most appropriate plan after using the plan for a year and judging their data use. We will see how realistic this as most people tend to use more rather than less downloads once on a plan. That is my own experience anyway.
The new plans are – $15 gets you 1GB a month in the first year, while the $55 plan includes 7GB per month. (Modems are between $99 and $199). Excess usage is charged at 6 cents per megabyte, a major drop on the previous 15 cent charge.
