I had first reviewed the GoTalk prepaid mobile plans over 12 months. Then some time later, as part of my regular review process, I tried looking for them on the Go-Talk site and they had disappeared. I then removed them from my site prepaidplans.
By chance this weekend, I was doing some more reviews and happened to be looking at what GoTalk had to offer and found they now had prepaid mobile plans again. So what are they and how good are they?
Go-Talk targets the cost sensitive market and so these plans are firmly in line with that strategy. They also piggyback off the international calling card rates that Go-Talk is also quite popular for. They have introduced 3 new plans – Straight Talk, which offers 10c calls, 20c flagfall and 12.5c SMS. There is no extra credit with this plan, just a 90 day expiry. This plan is aimed squarely at the Woolworths market. It seems Woolworth’s offer has really woken the market.
The 2nd plan is Big Talk, which offers credit of up to $330, depending on the cap you select. They start at $20 and increase to $50. Calls rates are higher than the Straight Talk package at 35c and 35c flagfall.
The final plan is Night Talk which is aimed at those wishing to make lots of international calls and wish to do it via their mobile. This is probably in response to the Lebara Mobile offer that was launched earlier this year. It basically includes a happy hour concept b/w 2 – 6am each day with great rates for many countries.
